"Mama teaches
and helps people."
When my daughter was in preschool, her teacher once asked what I do for a living. She didn’t name a title. Instead, she said, "Mama teaches and helps people." And that, at its core, is what I do.
There has been no single path, only an unfolding—a weaving together of movement, care, and deep listening.
I grew up in spaces that prioritised structure, where rules were followed, not questioned. But even then, I was drawn to what existed outside the given framework—imagining new possibilities, creating my own pathways. That thread of curiosity led me through many stages of life, always returning me to the body as home.
But it wasn’t until motherhood that this question deepened. I began to see the disconnect between my values and the ways the world expected me to move through it. The workplace wasn’t built for young parents like me, so I chose to leave behind stability for something unknown: a path that aligned more closely with what I believed in.
“The positions I learned in prenatal yoga and a bodywork session with Dewi, empowered me to have the birth I wanted and communicate confidently with the doctors and nurses. ”
That journey led me to establish Terra Luna Yoga, Singapore’s first women-focused and trauma-aware yoga studio. It was born out of necessity—because too many studios saw yoga only as fitness, or worse, just as business. I had experienced the sting of being turned away from classes when I was pregnant, and I knew I wanted to create a space where yoga was truly for everybody, at every stage of life.
From there, my path unfolded: training new yoga teachers, expanding into perinatal care, and offering bodywork and doula support. Now I support movement teachers (through my work at Centred Space), curious learners, the perinatal community, and those navigating pain and postpartum care—because I’ve walked these paths myself and understand the deep need for support, guidance, and feeling truly seen, which is why I’ve dedicated my work to learning, unlearning and relearning.

“If I had to describe movement practice with Dewi in 1 sentence, it would be - just come as you are. Can’t touch your toes? No problem! Try *this* or *that* instead because its substance not form, even if it doesn’t look like the textbook perfect shape. I really appreciate her solid theory based yet intuitive approach to body work. She meets you (and your body) where you are. Improved mobility, less gripping in my core, and increased body awareness are just a few things I’ve noticed since starting 1+ year ago.”
